WhatsApp Calling

Take and make WhatsApp voice calls from your browser. Calls ring for every agent, and each call appears in the customer's chat with its recording and transcript.

Overview

With WhatsApp Calling on, customers can call your WhatsApp number and your team answers in Automate AI. Every agent's tab rings and the first to answer takes the call. From a chat you can ask a customer for permission to call, send a Call us button, or call them. Every call appears in the chat with its length and who handled it — and, if recording is on, the recording and a transcript.

Steps

1

Choose what customers see

Go to Settings → WhatsApp Calling. Under On WhatsApp, turn on WhatsApp calling, choose whether to show the call button on your profile, allow callback requests and set call hours.

2

Choose how your team takes calls

Under Your team, choose whether agents can call customers and whether calls are recorded. Recorded calls appear in the chat with the recording and a transcript.

Ringing in open tabs

Once calling is on, your team's Automate AI tabs ring when a customer calls. Tabs that were already open start ringing within 5 minutes, or straight away after a reload.

Only owners and managers can change these settings

The page says so at the bottom; agents can still take calls.
