Overview
Contact Statuses are color-coded labels you assign to contacts — for example to track where they are in a sales or support process. One status can be marked as the default applied to new contacts.

Manage contact statuses
Click Add Status to create a new one, or use the search box to find an existing status. Each status shows its color, name, whether it's the account's Default, whether it triggers an Auto Follow-up, whether it's tied to a Meta event, its Status (active/inactive), and when it was created.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Color | The label's color, shown wherever the status appears. |
| Default | The status automatically applied to newly created contacts, if any. |
| Auto Follow-up | Whether assigning this status triggers an automatic follow-up sequence. |
| Meta event | An optional WhatsApp/Meta event this status reports back to Meta. |
Expected result
A new status appears in the table immediately and becomes selectable wherever you assign a status to a contact.
Use color deliberately
Since the color is what agents scan for first in a busy contact list, keep it meaningfully different across your statuses — for example, don't give two unrelated statuses the same color.
