Overview

Contact Fields let you define custom input fields that appear when creating a contact, in addition to the built-in name/phone/email. Custom fields can also be referenced from Automation.

Open Settings

1

Open Settings

From the left navigation, click Settings, then click Contact Fields.

Manage custom contact fields

2

Manage custom contact fields

Click Add field to create a new custom field. Each field has a display Input field name and a Webhook key — the key used to send and receive its value through the webhook, shown under custom_fields in an incoming contact payload. The table also shows the field's Input type, whether it Is required, and its Status.

Fields are matched by webhook key, not display name

If you're integrating with the webhook, use the exact webhook key shown in the table (for example company_details) — renaming a field's display name later doesn't change its key.

Example: sending custom field values via webhook

The panel shows a live example of the payload shape — custom field values are sent (and returned) under custom_fields, keyed by each field's webhook key:

json
1{
2 "name": "John Doe",
3 "phone": "+919876543210",
4 "custom_fields": {
5 "company_details": "Company Details value",
6 "test_number": "Test Number value",
7 "leadid": "leadid value",
8 "leadtype": "leadtype value"
9 }
10}

Field reference

Input field nameWebhook keyIs required
Company Detailscompany_detailsYes
Test Numbertest_numberNo
leadidleadidNo
leadtypeleadtypeNo

Expected result

The new field appears in the contact creation form, and its value is readable and writable through the webhook using the key shown in the table.
