## Overview

A contact group is a named set of contacts you can target together — for example when choosing an audience for a scheduled automation. This guide walks through creating one.

## Open Contact Groups

### Step 1 — Open Contact Groups

From the left sidebar, click Contact Groups, then click Add Group.

## Name the group

### Step 2 — Enter a group name

Type a name for the group.

## Create the group

### Step 3 — Review and create

Check the name, then click Create.

> **NOTE: You can add contacts afterward**
> Creating the group here doesn't add any contacts to it yet — assign contacts to the group from the Contacts page after it's created.

## Expected result

The new group appears in your Contact Groups list, and becomes available wherever you can target an audience by group.
