## Overview

Notification Settings controls the sound your browser plays when a new message arrives, so you don't have to keep an eye on the Chats tab to know when someone messages you.

## Open Settings

### Step 1 — Open Settings

From the left navigation, click Settings, then click Notifications.

## Configure notification sounds

### Step 2 — Configure notification sounds

Turn on Enable Sound Notifications to play a sound for incoming messages. Choose a Notification Sound from the dropdown — use the play button next to it to preview a sound before committing to it — and adjust Volume with the slider.

### Field reference

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Enable Sound Notifications | Turns the notification sound on or off. |
| Notification Sound | The sound played for a new message — use the play button next to the dropdown to preview it. |
| Volume | How loud the notification sound plays. |

## Expected result

Your browser plays the selected sound at the chosen volume whenever a new message arrives while this tab is open.
